1947
The company « Les Plastiques de France » is created in Marseille. The company specializes in the transformation of plastics, manufacturing protection and wedging components for the automotive and aircraft industries.
1957
The first industrial range of plugs is launched in France. At the same time, a complete patented range of connecting fitting accessories for drainage systems is put on the market.
1987
The company joins the Novembal group, a major actor in the packaging industry . The company name changes to “Plastiques de France Industries”.
 1990
The company is moved to the Industrial Parc of Gémenos (East of Marseille) and new offices are built (Production plant and Head office) on a site of 12 000 m².
1994
A Management Buy Out of the company takes place. Plastiques de France Industries becomes an independent company. The following years will be marked by several external acquisitions which bring new technologies and complementary know-how for its industry: acquisition of SIDMAP (Specialist in the heavy-duty plastic parts manufacturing) and TFM (thin surface and IML -In Mould Labeling - for the packaging industry). This period will also be marked by the entrance of new patented products on the market.
1999
A New step in the company approach to quality management : after obtaining ISO 9002 certification in 94, Plastiques de France Industries obtained ISO 9001 certification in 1999.
2000
Plastifrance SAS is created and takes over Plastiques de France Industries activity. A new management team is put in place. Plastifrance decides to accelerate its technological and sales development by focalizing on its core business.
2002
Plastifrance becomes the world leader in the production of smartcards following the acquisition of the Gemplus injection unit. Plastifrance now has a production capacity of 500 millions cards per year.
2004
Plastifrance is granted ISO 9001 : 2000 certification.
